At a glance. Your drafts and playthroughs are tied to your account. Publishing makes a scenario's published presentation available to others. AI features send the context needed for a request to the provider you select. The site owner can inspect private material when investigating abuse or enforcing the Terms. See the details and limits below.
1. Who operates the service
RandomSaga ("we," "us," or "our") operates randomsaga.com and its connected Random Saga applications (the "Service"). This policy explains our handling of information through the website and connected features. Contact us at support@randomsaga.com for privacy questions or requests.
The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 and meet the eligibility rules in our Terms of Service.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile. We collect the email address, password credential, display name, handle, and adult-eligibility and policy acknowledgments you provide at registration. We keep account status, membership and invitation records, sign-in security information, profile text, images, social links, preferences, and approximate last activity where applicable. Passwords are stored as password hashes, not readable passwords.
Your content. We store scenarios, drafts, published versions, lore, uploaded artwork, personas, collections, playthroughs, chat messages, story state, continuity edits, and related files you create or import. A playthrough may retain a snapshot of the scenario version used when it started. Content may contain personal information you choose to write; please avoid including sensitive information about yourself or others without a reason and permission.
Community and technical activity. We record follows, favorites, comments, reports, ratings and rating changes, scenario views, play activity, moderation records, security events, and information needed to detect abuse. Requests may also produce server, hosting, and security logs that include network address, device or browser details, time, and requested page. Discovery records can include keyed or hashed network and account references used to detect repeated or coordinated activity.
Billing and support. We keep membership and subscription status, payment-provider identifiers, and relevant support communications. Payment details entered at PayPal are handled by PayPal; we do not ask you to enter a card number into RandomSaga's account pages.
3. How we use information
We use this information to create and protect accounts; provide editing, publication, play, sync, community, and billing features; deliver account email; remember preferences; personalize and rank discovery; investigate fraud, spam, safety reports, and Terms violations; maintain and improve reliability; and comply with legal obligations. We may connect activity across accounts using technical signals when reviewing suspected manipulation. An automated abuse signal alone is not proof that someone violated the rules.
Where applicable privacy law requires a legal basis, our processing may rely on performing our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, compliance with law, or your consent for a specific optional use. You can contact us about a particular use or legal basis.
4. Stories, visibility, and connected devices
Drafts and private playthroughs are intended for the owning account. A published scenario exposes its published presentation, visible sections, and artwork according to the creator's publication settings. Hidden sections are withheld from the ordinary public view; if a creator allows customization, a reader may deliberately open a private editable copy that includes those sections. Do not place secrets in public titles, summaries, or other public fields.
Connected Windows apps can transfer conversations, scenario snapshots, and attached assets to the website account. Transfers use authenticated connections, and pending sync data is encrypted on the server. The server can decrypt synced material to restore it and support authorized moderation; this is not end-to-end encryption that excludes RandomSaga. Syncing a conversation does not by itself publish its scenario.
We restrict ordinary access to private content, but the site owner may review private account content when reasonably needed to investigate suspected abuse, respond to reports, enforce the Terms, or protect the Service. Such reviews are recorded with a reason in a private audit trail.
5. AI providers and provider credentials
When you use an AI feature, the selected provider may receive your prompt and the scenario instructions, relevant story history, character information, images, or other context needed to fulfill that request. Different features may send different context. The provider's own terms and privacy policy govern its handling of what it receives, including retention and possible model-training practices. Review those terms before sending sensitive or confidential material.
If you connect your own provider account or API key, RandomSaga stores the connection settings in an encrypted account-specific settings file on the server so the website can make requests you initiate. The site must be able to decrypt a key to use it. We do not display a saved full key in public pages. The Windows app may also keep its own local settings; this policy does not promise that keys exist only on your device. Remove a connection or contact us if you want help removing stored credentials.
6. Payments and service providers
We use third-party services to operate the website, host and protect it, send account email, process payments, and fulfill AI requests. These services receive information needed for their task. Account emails are sent through Resend and may include your email address and message content. PayPal receives information needed for checkout, subscription management, and payment confirmation. Hosting and security providers may process request and network information. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a lawful transfer of the Service subject to applicable protections.
We do not sell member lists or story content as a data product. If our use of advertising, cross-site tracking, or data sharing changes materially, we will update this policy and provide any required choices before the change applies.
7. Ratings, discovery, and moderation
Ratings and reading or play activity influence public discovery. The site owner can privately inspect which accounts rated a scenario, rating changes, and pseudonymous network references to investigate coordinated votes, alternate accounts, or other abuse. Raw network addresses are not stored in the rating records themselves, although operational or security logs may contain them. The site owner can also adjust an account's discovery placement after reviewing suspected spam or low-effort flooding; this affects ranking for other readers without removing direct access to a published scenario. Moderation actions and reasons are retained in private audit records. We do not publish these investigation records as part of a member's public profile.
8. Cookies and security
The website uses cookies and similar browser storage needed for sign-in, session security, and preferences. Your browser may let you block cookies, but doing so can prevent account features from working. We use HTTPS, access controls, password hashing, and encryption for selected stored secrets and synced data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security; please use a unique password and keep your provider keys private.
9. Retention and deletion
We retain account and content data while needed to provide the Service and for legitimate operational, security, billing, dispute, and legal purposes. Deleting or unpublishing a scenario changes its ordinary availability but may not erase an existing playthrough snapshot, another member's authorized copy, audit record, or backup immediately. Payment and fraud-prevention records may need to be kept after an account closes. Backups and logs may persist for a limited operational period before rotation. We do not currently promise a single fixed deletion period for every data type.
To request account deletion or removal of particular information, email support@randomsaga.com. We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and explain any information we must retain. Removing an account or its credentials can make saved stories or connected devices unusable, so export anything you need first.
10. Your choices and requests
You can edit your profile and many scenarios, change publication and content-display settings, manage AI connections, and cancel PayPal renewal through the available account controls. Some scenario and playthrough exports are available in the product. You can also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to ask about a rating, moderation, or privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity and may limit a request where the law permits or requires us to preserve information. Rights differ by location; we will honor applicable rights and explain our response.
If a privacy law gives you an appeal, objection, portability, or complaint right, you may exercise it by emailing support@randomsaga.com. You may also contact your local privacy regulator where applicable. We will not penalize you for exercising a privacy right.
11. Other important details
The Service is for adults and is not directed to children. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. The website and its providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate; protections may differ from those in your country. External websites and AI providers have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not control.
12. Contact and changes
Email privacy requests or questions to support@randomsaga.com. We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post a revised date here and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by applicable law. A material change will apply prospectively as described in that notice.
